Therapeutic Agreement

The focus of therapy is to support personal development by strengthening and learning new ways of being and acting in life, with the aim of increasing quality of life and preventing or treating mental disorders. Together, we will explore what this means for you, and I will support you in your process. I approach psychotherapy and supervision from an integrative approach, meaning I combine elements from different schools of psychotherapy to create a tailored treatment plan for each individual. It emphasizes flexibility and responsiveness to the client's unique needs and circumstances, rather than adhering to a single theoretical model. I do so guided by established psychotherapy research of what works (such as common factors theory). My main schools of inspiration are the relational developmental approach (Bodynamic, Hart's Neuroaffective system, and NARM), Jungian psychology, Transaction analysis, Cognitive psychotherapy (ACT, CBT and CFT), and the field of work and organizational psychology. As a client, you are expected to participate actively in the process, including completing agreed exercises or tasks between sessions.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Everything shared during our sessions is treated as confidential. As a psychotherapist I am bound by professional confidentiality and will not disclose information to third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law, such as in cases of danger to the client or others.

Use of Technology & Data

To ensure high quality and continuity in therapy, I use selected digital tools that comply with GDPR requirements and high data-security standards.

Data storage and documentation
I use Google Workspace (Business) with EU data-region settings, meaning all client files, session notes, summaries, and documents are stored securely in EU-based data centers. Google acts as a data processor under a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement (DPA), and data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Meaning only I have access to your data.

Session recording, transcription, and analytical use
Sessions will be recorded or transcribed in order to support documentation, accuracy, and the therapeutic process. Recordings and transcripts are stored securely in Google Drive under EU residency.
Recordings are transcribed using Google Gemini (via Google Meet) or Transkriptor, and the resulting transcripts and summaries may be used within Google Workspace to support:

  • generating structured session summaries

  • supporting clinical assessment

  • qualitative interpretation of themes and patterns

  • formulation of therapeutic focus areas

  • maintaining continuity and quality of care

When AI tools are used, only EU-based and GDPR-compliant systems are applied, and content is handled in accordance with strict confidentiality standards.

No AI processing outside the EU
Client data is processed only within Google Workspace (EU region) or Transkriptor.
No identifiable client material is sent to external AI systems or services outside these platforms.

Booking and calendar systems
For booking, and calendar management, I use EasyPractice/TerapeutBooking, which securely processes client profile information in accordance with GDPR and under a valid Data Processing Agreement.

Invoicing and accounting
For invoicing and financial administration, I use Dinero, which processes limited client information (name, contact details, and invoice data). Dinero acts as a data processor under a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement, and data is stored within the EU.

Security and confidentiality
All systems are encrypted, protected by access controls, and used according to GDPR principles:

  • Confidentiality: access to data is strictly limited to me as the therapist.

  • Data minimization: only information necessary for therapy is collected and stored.

  • Purpose limitation: data is used exclusively for delivering psychotherapy.

  • Storage limitation: data is deleted in accordance with professional and legal requirements.

Medical Treatment and Concurrent Therapies

Any ongoing medical treatments or other therapeutic engagements are to be informed. This knowledge enables me to assess potential risks or contraindications related to therapeutic interventions.

By starting a psychotherapy or supervision process with Tuk Jacobsen, you accept the above terms and conditions.
