Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Tuk Jacobsen, a certified psychotherapist specializing in helping expats and internationals. I’ve helped people from all over the world. I understand the mix of excitement and struggle that comes with starting a life in a new country. My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative – clients often say they feel safe and understood in our sessions. (You can read some of their experiences on my home page.)

In therapy with me, there’s no judgment. Whether you're feeling homesick after a hard day or frustrated that you're not adjusting as quickly as you hoped, I’ll be here to listen and help you make sense of it. I blend techniques from modern psychology with simple human empathy. Sometimes we’ll laugh, sometimes you might cry – both are welcome. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling a bit lighter, more confident — and with clear sense of how to move forward toward what matters to you.

I offer both in-person sessions in Copenhagen (Østerbro), because I believe face-to-face connection is powerful – especially when you’ve been feeling alone. My office is a cozy, calm space where you can exhale and just be yourself. And online sessions, for when you are travelling or find it hard to fit in a pressed schedule. And yes, sessions are in English, so you can express yourself comfortably. (I’m fluent and have lived/worked in English environments for years.)
